Problem with Sounds - Error 4810
« on: October 06, 2015, 08:14:38 PM »
So I keep getting this error

Every time a sound plays. This just started this morning. My computer was sleeping, I woke it up to do a few laps and this popped up. I have restarted twice now, and it won't seem to go away. I can still do laps and they register, but no sound effects and the error alert pops up every time a sound effect tries to play.

need to do a reboot of the computer. i have had that happen a few times and only way I could get any sound to work again was to reboot.

I rebooted a couple times now. I'll try and shut it down and give it a few seconds and try and restart.

I hadn't changed the sounds from the default sounds. I shut down the computer and let it rest for a bit and restarted. When I restarted the program, it searched for connected devices for a long time. Finally, I force quit and tried again. Still no luck. I then unplugged and replugged the USB side of the PB cable and it finally detected the PB on Com3 and started up regularly. All seems to be working now. Sounds and everything.

I seem to need to unplug the PB cable from the computer a lot now since I have started using the Arduino for start lights regularly. RCS also seems to lose connection to the PB more. Is this a known issue?

Thanks for your help.

Just tried that. It's doing the same thing. I looked in the 'car sounds' folder and they all seem to be there ready to play.

Now I have no sound in the program :( just a whole lot of pop up error messages like the one above. They come up every time a sound is attempted to play.

Very strange, In the sound tab there is a sound device drop downbox, Try change this if posible.

Tried changing this and restarting the program and it didn't fix it. I'll try rebooting.

I'll have to check the sound otherwise. This is pretty much the only program I run on this machine. Sometimes (before this issue) RCS64 would stop playing sound after the computer went to sleep after sitting for a while and to get the sound back I would have to restart the program, but this is the first time that these error message has come up. And the first time that everything wasn't fixed by restarting the program, or rebooting.

Thanks for your help.

I've now restarted, checked the computer's sound, uninstalled, reinstalled, sacrificed a chicken, alright maybe not that, but everything else. Still getting the same thing.

Any ideas?

Hmm, maybe its a driver issue, Try uninstall RCS64 and everything "National Instruments" you can find. Then reinstall RCS64.

I think its worth a try.
