Issues with version 4 / Electricity surge
« on: June 17, 2021, 12:55:30 AM »
When I use RCS64 on either Practice or Race modes on occasions the second the screen start light turns green there is a surge of electricity before I pull the trigger. It happened infrequently in the past but now has occurred twice in the last 2 days. Occasionally this will happen also after the start of the race; have already damaged one rear wing so hesitant to use RCS64 now.
When racing without turning on RCS64 I have no issues whatsoever with electricity surges anywhere in the track.
My track is about 85 feet long, Scalextric digital with a c7042 powerbase; do have three jumpers throughout the track. Use standard Scalextric power sources.
Thanks

Issues with version 4 / Re: Poor control of car after new Start Event

I'll try but raises the question how to utilize the weather feature in a race...should the cars go slowly through the start once so the controller becomes reliable again?

I'm pretty sure have fuel consumption, tyre wear, and weather options all on...should I try to change those option to off for the initial lap?

Issues with version 4 / Poor control of car after new Start Event
« on: August 26, 2015, 12:19:36 AM »
I have noticed the last few times I program a new Start Event that the car accelerates out of control when I pass the start line. When I get the car back and pass the Start for the second time I get back control over the speed.
Fortunately my Start lane is close to the end of a straight so damage to the cars have not occurred so far,  however it makes no sense why it would happen only after the first time I use the software; subsequent start events go on without a problem.
Second matter I have observed is that lack of speed control after a few laps on cars I have installed digital chips. I can go around the track for several lasp without an incident but when I sue RCS64 the same car, being used with the same throttle and same speed starts to respond erratically after a few laps. having a difficukt time figuring out why it happens only when using the software...is there a potential explanation on the why this might be occurring?
Thanks

Issues with version 4 / Re: Start Event
« on: July 29, 2015, 02:53:00 PM »
I decided to reboot the whole system and got the single event feature to work again. I have assigned more than one driver to a car and suspect that was eliminated from the software during the reboot; will not do that again. Unfortunately for a while yesterday the controllers were misbehaving and I lost control of one of my cars when it accelerated abruptly and the end of a long straight...spectacular crash but fortunately no damage to the car. For some reason both controllers are working properly now.

I have both controllers on LINEAR and HSPD profile choices and do alternate between those two profiles without any problem.

Thanks for you response.

Issues with version 4 / Start Event
« on: July 28, 2015, 04:03:43 AM »
I purchased RC64 last week and after being able to record one pace care session without using the controller I find myself unable to start any event from practice to qualifying or a race.
The controller is assigned to SSD controller status, the green light is on next to the driver on the start event tab, the controllers are indeed functioning (throttle configuration tab). Yet, when a click on practice and go to the screen to assign the controller to the car I'm able to do all steps and yet when countdown is over the car would not respond. Have tried both controllers without luck. Even went to a nuclear option and hit the reset RC64 to default settings button and still no luck.
If interest, when I stop the race I'm able to run the star with the appriayely assigned controller however no lap time is recorded. The only unusual message that I see is that flashing at the bottom of the start race window a message flashes stating latency might be too high for initializing (???). The only aspect I cannot change is eating either qualifying or racing to zero on the single event tab, something that apparently gets you in trouble from reading the v3 manual.
In summary, I can run my digital cars but cannot initiate a single event be it practice, qualifying, or racing. I was able to do so before I started working with the pace car feature, yet even after eliminating my two pace cars I cannot get the single event feature to work in terms of recording times or laps. Similar shortcoming on analog mode.
Any advise would be much appreciated as I believe to have tried all permutations including the box on the start menu window that request to check power on the vehicle on the track; it actually confirms the car has power but after I press the start button the car will not move.

Many thanks for your prompt reply. Your RMS is wonderful and looks like having a pit lane if not required is highly desirable.

Downloaded RCS64 over the weekend and having a great time experimenting with the F3 version on my track. Have been able to easily implement all the features available in the F3 version but not able to activate the analogue mode as it is dimmed in the Main Page dialog box. Is this is a restriction of the F3 version or should I do something else to make available? Using COM3 with latency time of 1 ms.
My second question is related to the use of pit lane. On the Instructional videos it seems that the pit requiring options such as refuel / tire change / damage all occur with the use of an actual pit lane. Wanted to know if the actual pit lane (7014 or 7015 as not interested on C7041) is needed to be able to implement above mentioned actions. On SSDC (also trying that product) you can refuel anywhere on the track by pressing the LC button (not sure how difficult it is to deal with Track call). Have very limited space on my current layout and adding the pit lane would need a change in the layout that I'm trying to avoid. Finally, if I need to add the pit lane track, how important would be to add the Smart Sensors (looks like a daunting job in terms of loading the Arduino software).
Thanks in advance.
