RCS Control of Cars While on Main Screen
« on: April 06, 2015, 05:03:10 AM »
I wish RCS64 would zero out all throttles while you are on the main screens. It doesn't take over controls until you start an event and when I am doing kid races the kids invariably pull the trittle all the way and wreck my cars.

If RCS64 would just zero out the throttle inputs once it connected to the powerbase, it would save me a lot of grief.

I actually removed this after user request.  Many user will be able to test cars in this mode. But I really see your point. Maybe I could make it optional as a feature later.

Thanks for the response Martin. It would not be so bad if the cars weren't at full throttle when not under RCS64 control. As it is, they go full throttle quicker than I can tell them not to and my cars go full speed racing off the track. I do see the benefit of being able to test cars and it is very helpful in normal racing, just not when kids are involved. ;-)

When not under the control of RCS, the last settings that you set up through the APB and tower take over. If you want to limit it until Martin  releases an option to disable this, connect the scaley tower to the base and lower the throttle value say to 50% or even lower. I am sure that you have set at the moment to 100%.

Good advice Grunz. I'll do that!

I also have a bit of a problem with RCS64 not having control as some of my throttles have just a bit of throttle before throttle calibration, so if people put their cars on the track before I start an event, the cars start going on their own.

As a start I will suggest you clean your controllers to fix the problem.

But I will put this in scope for the next release.

Cleaning the controller is an excellent idea. Funny thing is, I never thought of cleaning it out until you mentioned it. Not sure why.  :D
