Issues with version 4 / Sound
« on: March 06, 2016, 12:20:04 AM »
So I was really excited to finally hook up some speakers to my system as the speakers that come out of my extra monitor and my lap top are both pretty quiet. I attached the speakers to my system via the headphone jack and changed the sound source in RCS64 to internal speakers, but the sound still came out of my extra monitor, which is connected via HDMI. I tried changing the sound source, but nothing seemed to change regardless of which one I chose (External Monitor or Internal Speakers). The sound always came from my monitor plugged in via HDMI.

Other sounds from the computer went through the plugged in speakers as expected. Am I doing something wrong??

Every time I try and start up my Arduino for my start lights in combination with RCS64 I love connection with the Powerbase. It initially detects both fine, but after about 20 seconds I get an error message that the connection with the Powerbase was lost. So I am unable to use start lights with RCS64 at this point.  :(

Any idea of things to try? My Arduino is on com port 4.

Thanks,

Future Development / Decimals Vs Colons for Final Race Report
« on: February 09, 2016, 10:00:51 PM »
I had a race night a couple weeks ago and RCS64 worked perfectly for all five races! Kudos to the RCS64 Team. The program has really come a long way!

When putting together the results, I copy the HTML form directly into Excel. Unfortunately, as the times are separated with colons, Excel interprets them as times and that really screws things up. Is there any way they could be made to be decimal numbers? Not a big deal, it would just make it easier to compile my data update I send out post race.

I love the extra data you have added to the final report. Actually the more data the better so if the report could expand that would be fantastic. Maybe an option of a per lap report?

Keep up the good work guys.

Issues with version 4 / Auto Track Call Not Working in One by One Mode
« on: January 26, 2016, 06:55:09 PM »
As I spend a lot of time getting my cars to be even, one by one mode is great. I am loving it. The only problem is that auto track call does not seem work, or manual track call for that matter either.

Issues with version 4 / RCS64 Not Detecting Powerbase
« on: October 31, 2015, 03:42:45 PM »
Just got the track down after a couple week break. RCS64 does not detect the connection now. I tried restarting, disconnecting and reconnecting the power, and removing the USB connection and reconnecting. I also tried deleting the USB Driver under Com3 and then reconnecting to have it re-detect. Any ideas? I am on Windows 8.1 and it just updated. Maybe this is the problem?

Issues with version 4 / Problem with Sounds - Error 4810
« on: October 06, 2015, 08:14:38 PM »
So I keep getting this error

Every time a sound plays. This just started this morning. My computer was sleeping, I woke it up to do a few laps and this popped up. I have restarted twice now, and it won't seem to go away. I can still do laps and they register, but no sound effects and the error alert pops up every time a sound effect tries to play.

Arduino / Arduino Protocol
« on: September 29, 2015, 11:31:17 PM »
Is the protocol for Arduino going to be open sourced, or is it available? Don't get me wrong, I love the current plug and play set up. I was able to get start lights up and running in less than 15 minutes! It seems like there is so much that could be added to the functionality of RCS64 through Arduino. Lighting effects for weather conditions, consoles for each racer with fuel, tire wear and damage, things cued at the end of the race, the possibilities seem endless.

Issues with version 4 / Entering then exiting pit lane doesn't add a lap
« on: September 24, 2015, 06:57:38 PM »
So, my pit lane is parallel to the SF sensor, so cars pitting lose a lap. My understanding from reading the manual and talking to others on the SF forum is that by selecting the switch on the RCS64 home screen, that RCS64 would add a lap every time I brought up the pit menu. I tried it last night, and no lap was added. I tried completing a refueling and repairing all damage to see if this was maybe what triggered it, nothing. Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

I have no pit sensors and unfortunately can't afford them at this time, so I am hoping to get this working without them.

Thanks,

Issues with version 4 / Car Manager Bugs and Suggestions
« on: June 25, 2015, 07:01:26 PM »
This is sort of a bug/improvement post rolled into one. Sorry if it is in the wrong area.

I just tried to add my cars back into RCS64 v4. I have run into a couple problems. I am re-adding my cars as I tried to drag one of my car names up in the list, and it renamed 5 or 6 of the other cars this name and overwrote their preferences. So essentially, it copied the one car to a bunch of them. So I thought I would just start fresh and put the cars all in from scratch, plus I was going to add images that I took of the cars. It ended up making 5 or 6 duplicates some how, and when I tried to delete them, frequently it would delete the wrong car. Sometimes it would delete the one above, sometimes the car at the very bottom. You cannot select multiple cars and delete them. I finally gave up in frustration and went to bed.

Then adding when adding images to cars, you can only add one image at a time to the list and then have to select them to add to the car listing. It would be nice if you could either select a current image, or browse to a file (like you can do currently), but when you browsed to the file it would simply select that image as the one for the car instead of having to go back to the list and select the picture from it.

Also, is there any way to order the cars? I have a lot of cars and it is sometimes difficult to find the car I am looking for in my list maybe having some categories of cars would help to, so you could filter by GT, Group C, whatever . The same goes for drivers. I have a huge list and they are essentially in order of how I put them in. Being able to sort by alpha or even have a category of drivers such as kids, rookie driver, pro racer, ect would be neat as well and maybe you could filter by this to make the names even easier to find.

To me, so many of the features of this program are so great, but the time it takes me to set up each race is a little long. People are milling about anxiously during this time so it is important that the transition is as quick as possible. So anything I can do to streamline this process is a big help. Many of the things I am suggesting here are to that end.

Future Development / RCS Control of Cars While on Main Screen
« on: April 06, 2015, 05:03:10 AM »
I wish RCS64 would zero out all throttles while you are on the main screens. It doesn't take over controls until you start an event and when I am doing kid races the kids invariably pull the trittle all the way and wreck my cars.

If RCS64 would just zero out the throttle inputs once it connected to the powerbase, it would save me a lot of grief.

Is there any easy way to bring back the cars passing the finish line sound effects like in version 3?

Issues with version 4 / Names Locked When Controllers Deactivated
« on: March 31, 2015, 09:58:53 PM »
We had a race night last Sunday and I am happy to report that RCS64 worked excellently! I did find one issue. We were down to only three drivers and I was deactivating controllers, because I didn't do this one time and the race never would end. ;) So usually I keep the same cars on the same controllers and we just switch controllers as necessary. So I switched to another controller and deactivated the one I was previously on. Trouble was that I could not select my name for the other controller as it was apparently locked by the deactivated controller. I reactivated the controller, selected the name of someone not there and could then select my name for the other controller.

Future Development / Car Testing/Tuning Mode
« on: January 15, 2015, 06:18:17 PM »
Hello,

I mess around with my cars quite a bit, both mechanically and making adjustments to the throttle curves, etc. It would be awesome if there were a mode where I could tweak the throttle curves quickly and get to practicing right away. Maybe with some comparisons of average lap/fastest lap times, number of crashes, etc. As it is now, it takes me a bit to quit practice mode, go change the throttle curves, and get back to practice mode. It's a bit frustrating.

I think this would add a lot of enjoyment to using software, as some of the fun of racing is tweaking your car to go faster.

Issues with version 4 / RCS64 Losing Contact With Cars
« on: January 04, 2015, 08:00:46 PM »
So I just started using version 4 and I really like it, however the system seems to occasionally completely lose contact with the cars. The race starts, you pull the throttle, but nothing happens. I unplug the powerbase and replug it and then the cars respond again. I'm on Windows 8.1 much to my chagrin.;)

Thanks,

Heath
