Cannot connect to APB or Smart Sensors

Have got full RCS 64, running on laptop with Vista home. Updated software on APB via RCS64 to 1.09. Device manager shows COM5 and COM6 ports are assigned correctly to APB and the smart sensors i bought - but just won't connect, or if does, then  drops off when navigate away from window or after a few minutes. NB, I downloaded free trial of SSDC on same laptop and that works fine with same ports to connect to APB and SS - what can i try to get this working as RCS64 looks better than SSDC. Any help appreciated to one frustrated aficionado!

    Technically if you have run Ssdc then the ftdi drivers are installed but it may be that rcs64 can not see them so try downloading the drivers from the rcs64 program like you did with the apb firmware.

You could also try running rcs in administrator mode and the you can get access to the latency time for the ftdi cable driver.

Thanks, have reduced latency to as low as it goess (1) - will try loading drivers again.
