Auto-Pit keeps turning off
« on: December 08, 2014, 06:01:35 PM »
Whenever I start RCS64, the Auto-Pit option on the main page keeps being un-checked. I like this option, so I turn it on, and have tried saving the settings several times, but upon program start, it is turned off AND the option is greyed out. I must uncheck Pit-Pro, re-check Pit-Pro, and then I can re-check Auto-Pit. It's especially annoying when I forget to do this, and start a race expecting auto-pit to work.

Are you using Smartsensor or pit-pro?

I will test, and fix, its probarbly a small thing..
There are thousands off states to take care off(SS or pit-pro enabled or F1 or F3 versions, or even the color off driver5's t-shirt is blue or green and if he is Left or Right handed), so I might have missed that one :P

I will fix..

Windows XP SP3, release version of RCS64. I have the actual Pit-Pro hardware, not SS in Pit-Pro mode.
Pit-Pro option is saved and remembered, but auto-pit is not, as I said.
Do you want to know make and model of the laptop? Processor, ram? What do you need to know about my setup? I'm happy to give you that information.
I'll go test it again, and get a couple screen shots so that you can see all my main page settings, in case something important is being missed.

OK, what I found was that if I get the settings how I want, then SAVE the settings, then EXIT... the NEXT time I start the program, I can see the settings are saved while RCS64 checks all the com ports for devices. After that process is complete, and it has found my APB, Pit-Pro, and Scorpius dongle, then Auto-Pit is unchecked and greyed out.
If I exit and restart RCS64, the Auto-pit option is STILL greyed out during the com port check process. It would appear that my setting is being overwritten for some reason, some how, during that com port check process.
No matter what I do, save or not save the settings, when I start RCS64, the auto-pit option will end up disabled, and grey. The only way I can enable it is to disable Pit-Pro, enable Pit-Pro, then Auto-pit is available, and I can enable it.
Here's a screen shot of my main page, in case that helps at all.

Yes. That is the only setting that will not stick.

Hmm, I cant make my settings forget this settings. It will only disable if I manualy deselect Pit-pro an on again then its disabled.

Does anyone else seen this problem?

Is it possible that, during the com-port check procedure, or even license check, that it is toggling Pit-Pro, thereby turning off the auto-pit? The strangest part is that in the end, even though Pit-Pro is enabled, auto-pit is grey and cannot be enabled without toggling pit-pro again.

I'd get a video of it happening, but my camtasia expired.
