Issues with version 4 / Re: Sound
« on: March 07, 2016, 11:21:56 AM »
Sounds like it might be the HDMI lead, I've got my 2 x widescreen monitors hooked up via standard PC leads and my surround sound is plugged in via the headphone jack on my laptop and it all works fine. have you got another lead to wire up the monitor?

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks. They've been fine in version 4 and I've had no trouble at all, it's only since the update that things have gone funny. The cars usually behave and I've had great success with 5 pace cars running at the same time for 50+ lap races. Now they won't even record, I must be doing something really simple wrong

Anybody having issues with pace cars since the update? My recorded cars don't seem to be behaving like they did and I can't successfully record new cars. The main issue is the recorded data graph, there's no playback line. I've tried deleting cars and creating them again but then they won't record again, if I'm the only one then it must be something I'm doing wrong but I don't know what!?!

Cheers

v4 how it works / Re: Seres Races

Thanks Martin, as long as it keeps a track of the points then the race night will work fine.

Thanks,

Steve

v4 how it works / Seres Races
« on: February 01, 2016, 10:54:21 PM »
Hi!

I'm having issues with the series function. When I usually host race nights we just run single events (I've not been using RCS64 for that long) and that works fine, this Friday night I'm having a few mates over and I want to use the 'series' page to run things in order. Qualify - GP50 - Endurance 20mins - GP100 - Endurance 30mins with points being accumulated throughout the evening

I've created all the races in the single event tab and they are there when I go to the series tab, but I can only select one event at a time, I can't stack them up (presuming I can?).
So I can run the GP, then it'll allocate points and the event will be 'event 1'. I'll then go back and select endurance and run that race in series but it'll still come up as 'event 1' even though the points carry on. There is 3 grey boxes in the series and only the top one will ever have a race in it ie 'GP50'

How do I get a series of races to actually work as a series, rather than having to back out and running the single event again.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Now that sounds interesting, it's always a bit of a fumble for new racers to get to the 'Go' option, good plan!

Will there still be an exit sound though? If so then pleeease make it changeable :-)

Hi Martin

I'll keep my eyes open and my ear to the ground then.... Any chance you could add the ability to change the pit out sound? I don't mind the guy saying 'exit, exit now' but the screechy F1 car after it sounds out of place.

Here's hoping  :)

Thanks Martin, are we talking days or weeks? No pressure I'm just wondering.

Is there also an issue with the pit exit sound for non sensored pit entry/exit. Normally when I click the exit button the voice says 'exit, exit now' which is good but I've cut a sample of MW saying 'go go go' which I want to use, the only place the 'exit now' sample can be swapped is the 'stop/go exit' sound.

Arduino / Arduino board 'ready to race'
« on: December 05, 2015, 04:24:29 PM »
Call me lazy but this Arduino board thing baffles me. I would like red to green start lights and an amber track call light. Does anybody actually make these to order? I'm happy to pay whatever, I just want to plug it in and hey presto! My soldering skills aren't bad but the whole circuit board scares me!

Who want's a project then?

A bit more help please, so far so good, I've now got 6 different LMP car sounds on the SF line and it's brilliant thanks! I'm playing with the background sound option now, I've deleted 3 of them and kept the Track Ambiance one, I've edited it in Audacity to make it much quieter, that way I can have it playing on loop without it bothering me. I also looped it which has made it over a minute long. When I put it back in the background folder it won't play, is there a time restriction on sounds? If so I could keep the original length and just set trigger time to 0 or 1 second, I presume that'll also work like a loop?
Loving every bit of this software, wish I hadn't wasted a year on SSDC!

Ahh, I have to add the whole folder even though it said there was nothing in the folder. I see, just got my first sound in, thank you!

Thanks for the speedy reply Martin. The problem is that when I go to the folder containing my sound files, there are no items that match my search, wwhen I open the folder but not from RCS then all my sounds are there.

Is 8bit wav the right file type? Can they be MP3?

Hi

I've been trying to get my own sounds on to RCS but with no luck. I have a load of Le Mans sounds from SSDC that I want to use for cars passing the SF line. I've done some research on here and Slot Forum and Ade said they have to be 8bit WAV files, so I've saved them as such using Audacity. I then go to the 'sound' tab and click 'add', go to the folder and there's no files, as if it's the wrong format.

Am I missing something really obvious? No doubt I am, so any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve
